The word flocculant is a common word with a broad meaning and it describes chemistries such as coagulants and polymers that help to clear dirty water.
If you are looking for chemicals such as alums, polyaluminium chlorides (PAC), iron based such as ferric sulphate or ferric chloride, or chemicals such as polyDADMAC’s and epiDMA’s, then please see our HydraPrime coagulant range. Click Here >>> HYDRAPRIMETM Coagulants.
If you are looking for chemicals referred to as polymers, whether they be powders or emulsion based, please see our HydraBond polymer range. Click Here >>> HYDRABONDTM Polymers.
We supply a comprehensive range of traditional coagulants as well as specially blended formula’s tailored specifically for industrial raw water and wastewater treatment processes.
HYDRAPRIME 1000 – A range of aluminium based inorganic coagulants. This range is designed to promote the coagulation of fine and colloidal matter and generate particles that will easily flocculate and allow rapid settling or flotation in a water or wastewater treatment plant.
HYDRAPRIME 2000 – A range of iron based inorganic coagulants. Like the HP-1000 range, these coagulants also promote the agglomeration and flocculation of fine and colloidal material for fast settling or flotation in water treatment plants.
HYDRAPRIME 3000 – A range of calcium based inorganic coagulants. This range of coagulants also promote the agglomeration and flocculation of fine and colloidal material. Furthermore, our 3200 and 3300 series help improve sludge dewaterability resulting in lower polymer use and a drier sludge.
HYDRAPRIME 4000 – A range of magnesium based inorganic coagulants. Like the HP-3000 range, these coagulants also promote the agglomeration and flocculation of fine and colloidal material. Just like our 3200 and 3300 series, our 4200 and 4300 series help improve sludge dewaterability resulting in lower polymer use and a drier sludge.
HYDRAPRIME 5000 – A range of organic coagulants designed for coagulation and emulsion breaking. This range offers the advantages of being effective over a wide pH range, of requiring minimum dose rates and they help the plant produce the lowest possible sludge volumes. Very economical and easy to handle.
HYDRAPRIME 6000 – A range of blended coagulants that combine the advantages of the 1000, 2000 and 3000 series with that of the 5000 series. Especially suitable for hard to treat waters and emulsion breaking. Suitable for all types of separation processes including clarifier, DAF and multimedia filtration.
HYDRAPRIME 7000 – A range of single shot, “all-in-one” chemistry containing coagulants and polymers designed for oily and difficult to treat waters. The result is clear water and a sludge that is non-leachable, easy to handle and dewaters well. This product is especially suited to batch or continuous systems treating low volumes

Hydroflux Utilities also offers a range of bacteria based products, enzyme based products, and micro-nutrient products, as well as the more traditional major nutrient products such as urea, phosphoric acid and ammonium phosphate, all suitable for the well-being and up-keep of aerobic biological systems.
HYDRAFERM 1000 – this range includes our biologically active bacterium, micronutrient and enzyme based series of products. These products are designed to reduce the volume of sludge already produced, increase water treatability and reduce foaming in biological systems. These products are supplied as ‘dry’ and are suitable to be used ‘as is’ or after a 24 hour activation period in a simple water/aeration system. The advantage of activation means lower overall dose rates.
HYDRAFERM 2000 – this range of products are liquid based formulations designed to get your system back-on-track right from the start. These are proprietary blends of enzymes, bacteria, nutrients and surfactants designed to tackle oil and grease build as well as reduce already produced sludge volumes. These can be used as stand-alone products or in conjunction with our HYDRAFERM 1000 products.
HYDRAFERM 3000 – This range contains the more traditionally used ‘macro-nutrients’ such as urea, phosphoric acid and ammonium phosphate. These are designed for aerobic based biological plants where the feed water is deficient in phosphorus and/or nitrogen based chemistry.

Hydroflux Utilities offers a wide range of antifoams and defoamers, including silicone and non-silicone based formulations. Our series contains both water soluble and water-dispersable products for use in a wide range of industries including food and beverage, manufacturing, mining, pulp and paper and wastewater applications. A selection of our antifoams are also suitable for environmental discharge foam control.
Selection of a suitable antifoam is not easy. Unwanted foam production is usually the product of a number of parameters coming into play. Thus not only determining the most suitable antifoam, but determining the best dose location and dose rate is critical to success. Underdosing can allow unwanted foaming to continue, while overdosing can increase operating costs and create downstream fouling and/or production upsets.
Contact a local Hydroflux Utilities consultant today and let us help you choose the most suitable antifoam or defoamer, dose rate and dose location. Choose HYDRAFOAM to optimise performance and minimise operating costs.

Hydroflux Utilities offers a full range of proprietary blended multifunctional phosphonates and polymers that help control the deposition of inorganic scales, sludges and other materials that deposit on membrane surfaces.
As part of a membrane pretreatment program, The HYDRASCALE range is designed to eliminate scale production, disperse colloidal particles and reduce organic and inorganic fouling. Our specially blended formulations also help reduce the likelihood of micro-organisms from depositing and building up fouling colonies on your membrane.
It is important to find the right antiscalant/antifoulant product for your particular application. Poor choice and inappropriate dose rates can increase fouling potential leading to higher operating costs, increased downtime, more cleans and lower permeate production. Hydroflux consultants use proprietary scaling software and good old ‘on the job’ experience to help determine the causes and find solutions to scaling and fouling issues that plague most membrane systems.
